Day 9 - A picture of the person who has gotten you through the most/ Your most treasured item This one was easy for me because without my faith, I truly would not be the person I’ am today. It’s my faith that has allowed me to forgive and to know the true meaning to life. It has set me free and while I’ve still got much more to learn I know I’m a better person today because of the grace of God.
Here is a poem a friend and I wrote many years ago that I would like to share, I’m not sure why I remember it, but I do and I’m glad for that:
If I die tomorrow night at least I will not go with fright,
Because I know in heaven there is nothing but love,
I will not be floating in a cloud,
But praising my lord God aloud,
So I pray with you every hour,
That God will grant you holy power,
To walk in faith in his way,
All these thing I pray for,
And hope they all come true.

Day 8 - A picture that makes you laugh/A birthday celebration

I still need to look at the cake to determine my age but I’m guessing I was 2 or 3.This picture is of my twin brother’s birthday party at my grandmother’s house. I can remember the cake had Cowboys and Indians on it and I blew out the candles so my brother got really mad at me ;) Hey I was the baby...that’s just my role right? I was told later that whenever my brothers had a birthday up until I was about 6 or so, I would receive a gift as well because I couldn’t understand why they got presents and I didn’t…maybe I was a bit spoiled back then ;) P.S. I don’t think they got gifts on my birthday…

May 26th..June's Challange.........

What a week… glad to be back to work…seriously, I keep myself way too busy when I’m home and can see all things I need to do around the house…now a little time to do the things I like to do and don’t need to do so much.
With the weekend coming up and time to open the pool so we can enjoy the backyard, I’ve been working hard to get it ready. I’ve had the last 3 day off and while I’ve still got things to do, I did get a lot done – cleaned up both the front and back yard – power washed the screened-in porch, gutters and part of the concrete around the pool & pulled the furniture from the deck and washed it. I still need to clean the patio furniture cushions, power wash the deck, finish cleaning the concrete and touch the paint on the patio furniture. I would like to trim a small tree and get the kid’s pool ready this weekend. Last thing I need to do is clean off the pool cover and open it for the summer!!! :))
As for this month’s challenge I’ve been a bit distracted this month and need give myself more time, which I plan to do in June…so for June’s challenge (sneak peak), continue to work on my photo challenge, work on coin inventory, continue to work on children’s book and finally get the chandelier in the hallway up….Happy Memorial weekend everyone.. And I'm proud to be an American,
where at least I know I'm free. And I won't forget the men who died, who gave that right to me.

Monday...it's going to be a long week!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well my flash drive showed up and I'm stoked about that, now I just need to find my ring!!!???? The weekend was quite productive and I was able to knock out about 8 scrap pages. I'm so glad I've had the chance to catch up on so many pages, and I should get one more weekend that I can devote to scrapping at the end of the month.
It's going to be a long week for me and as much as I'm glad to be off tomorrow and hopefully sleep in, I have a bunch to do before Friday night. I have to go out of town this weekend and need to get everything together by Thursday night so I can leave straight from work...just thinking about it is wearing me out!!! LOL.
With all that said I have 3 things I really want to work on this week, first I need to upload day 8 and 9 of the 31 day photo challenge. Next start working on uploading my children's book and I found a great site from reading Gretchen's book the "Happiness Project" called Lulu.com and it seems to be exactly what I'm looking for in getting my book published!!! It also looks to be very reasonably priced so I've decided to give each boy their own book instead of combining the two. Last I want to work on my new latch hook rug for Ryder and go through the albums downstairs…Yeah It’s a repeat from last week but oh well ;) So there it is, the things I want to really do and in between all that I guess I will need to do a few of things I have to like laundry and cleaning/ picking up around the homestead... Happy Monday everyone and I hope you have a great week!!!!

Nothing Exciting…Not much done…but I did see the Picasso Exhibit finally

I had the last 3 days off and overall I’ve still need to get all things to done on my to-do list, so hear is today’s list: find ring and get tape for scrapping tomorrow and I MUST GET DEPENDANT STUFF FOR INSURANCE ;) If the baseball game get’s rained out then I will hang the painting tonight …. See I told you nothing exciting…Happy Weekend

Nothing too exciting but hey I'm glad to finally have this part done!! Now I can start on cleaning up things to open the pool and make my backyard a fun and relaxing place to hang out in...Happy Mother's day to all you mommy's out there ;)

Day 6 - A picture of a person you'd love to trade places with for the day/ A favorite memory

It took me a bit to figure out who I would switch places with for a day….. for day 6 of my photo challenge….while going through photo albums I found some great picture’s of my grandmother. I was only 12 years old when she had her stroke...I can remember it like it was yesterday. I was at a friend’s house down the street when my brother came and got me. He said I needed to come home; grandma is sick and had to be rushed to the hospital. I remember at 12 years old not really understanding the impact of everything that was going but I knew it wasn’t good. After the stroke my grandmother suffered many years and later in life she became diagnosed with Alzheimer’s as well as dealing with the effects from her multiple strokes through-out the years.
I remember my grandmother as one of the nicest and sweetest person I know, someone who also stood up for me and was like a mother to me. She was really one of the only female role models in my young life and those years I believe had a huge influence on the person I am today. If I could go back in time I would trade places with her so she could have a day free from her medical problems and enjoy being the person I remember as I child.

May flowers??????

April showers bring May flowers??????…well I wish we had more showers in my neck of the woods, but either way I’m excited to welcome May. I have feeling this month is going to go by in a flash because I have to work the weekends. One of my challenges for this month is to take it all in...and to try and enjoy each minute I have without overwhelming myself (as many of you know I’m quite a busy bee so slowing down and actually relaxing is a big challenge for me).
For this Month my number 1 goal will be to work on my children’s book and complete it to include the illustrations. I’m not going to focus so much on the publishing aspect but really just completing the book and adding my new main squeeze Ryder.
I want to finish up some spring cleaning and really, really hope to clean out my shed…I have a feeling I can get it done this week. I want to hang the light and painting in the hallway and I really need to find my flash drive and should finish updating my files!!! I should get lots of scrapping done this month, so you will see a bunch of that and while I’m at it I hope to go through my photo books and get them organized … ;) Happy May and good luck with your goals for this month.
