For Today---- July, 13, 2011

Outside my window…the parkway
I am thinking… of how I’m going to have things done so I can spend time with my boys on Friday
I am hearing… the humming of the A/C
I am thankful… for this day
I am remembering… to make a packing list for the next 2 weeks!
I am wearing… my work clothes
I am going… to call the doctors to make an appointment for Mr. Ryder
I am praying… that the pool pump from e-bay will be worth my efforts
Around the house… finish the dang-on hallway light already
One of my favorite things… making promises to Ryan that I keep ;)

July’s Monthly Challenge…Gearing up for Augusts Saturday Night Live Tickets Lottery!

Considering it’s already July 12 and I haven’t posted a challenge this month, I’m guessing I won’t have much time to work on just one thing. I have military duty the last 2 weeks of the month and will be away from my computer and my family. I have however decided to work on a list of attractions/places in Virginia that I want to see… my 101 places to see in Virginia before I die. Also I hope to complete 2 things this month…start a journal for my work-out and work. So nothing super exciting but with my limited time, I think I can handle this little bit. Also I want to remind everyone that August is the month to request Saturday Night live tickets, so I’ll be posting a link on how to get them very soon;))

Stay cool and enjoy your summer!!!!!

Virginia Safari Zoo July 2011

We had a blast... Poor Ryan was a little scared of some of the animals, but he had a wonderful time!!!!

Day 10 -Your favorite room in the house

Well it’s not really a room. When we first moved to our house just shy of 6 years ago, I took this photo of our pool through the Banana trees...and I love how it came out!
As much as a pain the pool can be, it’s sure is nice to set on the deck and watch the kids play ;)))

Sorry I’ve been so bad about keeping up with my 31 day photo challenge, but the summer is keeping me busy ;)…hopefully I’ll have this challenge done before the end of the yea! LOL

2008 is now on the books

I think I’ve been a scrapbooker my entire life. I can go back as early as 1st and 2nd grade with things I saved and put into an albums. I’ve always enjoyed art and have excelled at most of my creative projects. I was the President of the Future Homemakers of America chapter at my middle school, member of my middle and high school talented art club, and interested in just about anything creative such as drama and home economics.
However it wasn’t until my 1st son was born that I knew scrapbooking was a passion of mine. In 2007 I started out like many others, where a friend was having a party with a local consultant of one of the many scrapbooking companies out there. In 2008 by the end of the year I had taken a break from many of my favorite things and as a result I didn’t get any photos of that year scraped. I‘m finally catching up 3 years later, after having a new guy to add to my pages, and it looks like I can finally say I did it!!!!! I have gotten the entire year I missed scrapped and added to my current albums of my family.
So here it is, Ryan’s 2nd Birthday ;))))

With all this said and done, I’ve decided to work on some things I feel I need to add into my life; more direction and influence, as well as things I need to be free from. I have less than two weeks before I leave for my two weeks of military training and I’ve decided to utilize that time to really consider my plans and goals.

Happy July 4th

Let’s see, I started out with a 2 week challenge to see if I could truly get a full 8 hours of sleep each night and I think I did dang-on good. I have to say though that if I had tried this challenge in fall I might not have been as successful. It was easy to make myself fall asleep when there’s no new shows and/ or episode I “HAVE” I stay up and watch…with no new episode’s of Criminal Minds, Dexter, and Survivor what’s the point, right? I think the best things about taking this challenge is that I did do it and for the most felt better each morning. While I know it’s not going to always be easy to make myself go to bed I think I’ve gotten into a good rhythm and feel it will be easy to stick to my efforts of getting 8 hours of sleep each night… now if I can just figure out how to get my work-out in without compromising my sleep time, I’ll be happy
